Matthew has over ten years of career counseling experience working with lawyers in nearly all practice areas, settings, and phases of their careers.
He has counseled lawyers seeking to make lateral career transitions as well as with those seeking law-related careers and careers completely outside of traditional legal practice.
Matthew also has significant experience working with new attorneys and with lawyers seeking to reenter legal practice after prolonged absence.
Before entering the career counseling profession, Matthew practiced law in a variety of settings including in-house counsel and Manager of Legal Information Systems for a Parisian-based, multinational assistance services company and as an associate in NYC law firms specializing in corporate and international trade law. He also serves as the Director of Career Development & Alumni Counseling at American University Washington College of Law where he has been responsible for advising alumni on all facets of their career development through the Office of Career & Professional Development.
Matthew's education includes a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Boston University, and course work at both The London School of Economics and the National University of Singapore.
